The Illustrated Guide to New York Waterways is a personal project that came about while wondering what could actually be at the bottom of the Hudson River. This curiosity led to a bit of investigation, and I ended up talking to and interviewing some of the lead divers for the NYPD and dock builders. What I came up with was a bit more interesting than I had ever anticipated.
The book is still being written and I'm planning on self publishing it in early 2013. See the following images for the basic idea. The original handbound concept book I made, with a 3-color letterpressed cover and Japanese stab stitch binding.
